Properties
White crystalline powder with extremely strong hygroscopy, freely soluble in water, ethanol and acetone; prone to turn yellow under light or long-term air exposure due to iodine oxidation.
- Anhydrous Lithium Iodide: MP:446℃, BP:1171℃, density:3.49g/cm³(25℃);
- Trihydrate Lithium Iodide: loses partial crystal water at 73~80℃, fully dehydrated above 300℃ to anhydrous form. Grades: Battery Grade(≥99.9%), Industrial Grade(≥99.0%), Reagent Grade. Battery grade with strict limit on Na, K, heavy metals and moisture content.
Applications
- Lithium battery: raw material of solid electrolyte for solid-state battery, Li-S battery, implant medical lithium cell & DSSC electrolyte; restrain polysulfide shuttle effect;
- Fine chemical: catalyst for organic synthesis, cleavage reagent for ester & ether bond; pharmaceutical intermediate;
- Optics: IR coating, scintillation crystal for neutron detection, high-efficiency desiccant;
- Others: photosensitive material, high-purity lab analytical reagent.
Packing & Storage
Packed in 25kg fiber drums with double inner vacuum PE liner or bulk jumbo bags. Store hermetically in cool, dry & dark warehouse, avoid air contact and moisture, forbid outdoor storage.
